"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Thursday added COVID-19 vaccination to its routine immunization schedule for children and adults.

Although the CDC does not have the authority to set requirements itself, the agency’s immunization schedule provides formal guidance for state and local public health officials who set the rules for which vaccines are required to attend school.

The schedule also is the basis for vaccine recommendations made by most physicians.

“Given all that we have learned about the dangers and ineffectiveness of COVID-19 shots over the last two years, it is horrifying to see the CDC now recommend this as a routine shot to children,” Mary Holland, Children’s Health Defense (CHD) president and general counsel told The Defender.

“Although it is unsurprising given the agency capture, it is nonetheless tragic,” she added.

"Following the availability and use of the updated (bivalent) COVID-19 vaccines, CDC’s Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD), a near real-time surveillance system, met the statistical criteria to prompt additional investigation into whether there was a safety concern for ischemic stroke in people ages 65 and older who received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent," the CDC said.

Rapid-response investigation of the signal in the VSD raised a question of whether people 65 and older who have received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent were more likely to have an ischemic stroke in the 21 days following vaccination compared with days 22-44 following vaccination.

According to the CDC, an ischemic stroke "occurs when blood clots or other particles block the blood vessels to the brain."

"The Florida Supreme Court signed off Thursday on Gov. Ron DeSantis’ request to impanel a grand jury to investigate COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers for potential wrong doing. In DeSantis’ petition to ​establish​ the grand jury, he argued that a Florida Department of Health analysis “found an increase in the relative incidence of cardiac-related deaths among males 18-39 years old within 28 days following mRNA vaccination.”​

Northshore University Healthsystem for more than 500 current and former health care workers who were unlawfully discriminated against and denied religious exemptions from the COVID shot mandate.

Judge Kness granted verbal final approval today and he will enter the final judgment within the next week. Liberty Counsel settled this historic, first-of-its-kind class action settlement against a private employer who unlawfully denied hundreds of religious exemption requests to COVID-19 shots.

The group submitted a letter to Yale University President Peter Salovey demanding an end to the mandate and accusing the University of “medical experimentation” on its students. The protest featured speeches from various individuals who have spoken out against COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Naomi Wolf ’84, a feminist author and outspoken COVID-19 vaccine skeptic, delivered the keynote address. Wolf told the News that she does not consider herself broadly anti-vaccine, but thinks it is “fair game” for people to ask questions about other government-mandated vaccines.

“AnNike and Washington State University (WSU) are two of the latest employers to face lawsuits from employees who lost their jobs over COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Three former senior employees last week sued Nike, demanding punitive damages for religious discrimination, medical discrimination and battery after they were fired or lost their jobs due to Nike’s COVID-19 vaccination mandate.

On Nov. 11, Nick Rolovich, former WSU football coach, sued the university, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee and WSU athletic director Pat Chun seeking damages after he was fired last year for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

The two lawsuits came on the heels of another suit filed last week by three former National Basketball Association (NBA) referees who sued the NBA after they were fired for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine on religious grounds.It’s all part of a “wave of vaccine mandate litigation” that has grown to more than 1,000 lawsuits challenging vaccine mandates and filed primarily against employers in the last several months, according to the National Law Review.

“The waning efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines and increasingly contagious strains of the virus being spread to elderly and immunocompromised people have resulted in more deaths among those who have taken at least one vaccine dose, a Washington Post analysis published Wednesday finds.

A newly released U.S. Senate interim report reaffirms suspicions that the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus likely came as a result of a “research-related incident” at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, China.Published by the minority oversight staff of the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP), the report analyzes the plausibility of two main theories surrounding the origins of Covid-19: that the outbreak of the virus resulted from either a “natural zoonotic spillover” or a “research-related incident.”

The investigation was spearheaded by ranking HELP Committee member and North Carolina GOP Sen. Richard Burr, who said in the foreword of the report that the “ultimate goal” of the inquiry “is to provide a clearer picture of what we know, so far, about the origins of SARS-CoV-2 so that we can continue to work together to be better prepared to respond to future public health threats.”

Elon Musk entered Twitter Headquarters in San Francisco promising a new era on the world's most influential social media platform. A New York Supreme Court judge on Monday struck down New York City’s vaccine mandate, finding the rule to be unconstitutional, arbitrary, and capricious.  Attorney Chad LaVeglia, who announced the verdict outside the Richmond County courthouse, said the mandate was now “null and void.” 

“So, we just defeated the vaccine mandate for every single city employee—not just sanitation,” LaVeglia said.

The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has tested positive for COVID-19 — one month after she publicly celebrated getting her booster shot. Dr. Rochelle Walensky, who tested positive Friday night, is “experiencing mild symptoms,” according to a release posted to social media.

Former Marine Capt. Dale Saran is now representing more than a thousand service members in two separate cases that he hopes will end the current mandate, if he is once again successful. During a press conference Tuesday, Saran said the Pentagon’s mandate is illegal, since it entails ordering service members to take a vaccine approved for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) and not the vaccine licensed by the FDA, known as Comirnaty.

“The waning efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines and increasingly contagious strains of the virus being spread to elderly and immunocompromised people have resulted in more deaths among those who have taken at least one vaccine dose, a Washington Post analysis published Wednesday finds.

"Fifty-eight percent of coronavirus deaths in August were people who were vaccinated or boosted," the Post reported. The paper described a "troubling trend" as the share of deaths of people who were vaccinated has been "steadily rising" over the past year."
