Episode 224: When Doctors Put Patients Over Protocol

April 21, 2026

Tuesday on VSRF Live, join us for a critical conversation with two of the most courageous medical voices of our time.

Paul Marik, MD, FCCM, FCCP and Pierre Kory, MD, MPA, co-founders of the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (now the Independent Medical Alliance), join us to examine the fallout of the pandemic era, where they are each taking independent medicine next, and why this shift is so consequential.

Dr. Marik is a world-renowned physician with an extensive body of work. He served as a tenured Professor of Medicine and Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Eastern Virginia Medical School, with more than 500 peer-reviewed publications and an H-index of 111, making him one of the most published critical care physicians in history. Dr. Marik worked with Dr. Kory early in the pandemic to lead the development of widely used COVID-19 treatment protocols through the FLCCC.

Today, his work has taken on even greater urgency. Dr. Marik is now focused on cancer, investigating repurposed drugs, metabolic therapies, and treatment strategies that challenge the conventional oncology model. Through both clinical practice and extensive research and publishing on his Substack, Marik's Cancer and Metabolic Healing Playbook, Dr. Marik is advancing approaches aimed at improving cancer outcomes where standard protocols fall short.

Dr. Kory is a pulmonary and critical care physician who previously served as Chief of the Critical Care Service at the University of Wisconsin and practiced at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. An expert in critical care ultrasound and co-editor of an award-winning textbook, he emerged as a leading voice challenging the mainstream medical narrative during the pandemic, testifying before the U.S. Senate in 2020 on the use of repurposed drugs to treat COVID-19 and playing an instrumental role in bringing those protocols to patients at the height of the crisis as a co-founder of the FLCCC.

He is the founder of the Leading Edge Clinic, and the Asao Group, and his current work explores the intersection of mineral chemistry, water, and biology, and their implications for human health, agriculture, and environmental systems. He continues to treat patients with Long COVID, post-vaccine injury, and those seeking adjunctive cancer care, and writes extensively on these subjects in his Substack, Pierre Kory's Medical Musings. He will also discuss his latest books, The War on Chlorine Dioxide and Water Solutions for a Toxic World, and what these investigations reveal about the current state of modern medicine.

In this conversation, we’ll explore:

  • What still hasn’t been acknowledged from the pandemic
  • Dr. Marik’s work on cancer and repurposed therapies, and why it’s gaining traction now
  • Dr. Kory’s latest books and the larger questions they raise
  • Whether the medical system has changed or simply moved on without accountability
  • What comes next for physicians willing to challenge the status quo

Two physicians. One shared history. And a clear-eyed look at what comes next.

Join us Tuesday at 7 PM ET.
