This week on VSRF Live we welcome back Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, the Houston-based otolaryngologist and founder of BreatheMD, to discuss her new book, Dangerous Misinformation: The Virus, the Treatments, and the Lies.
A Stanford-trained physician and mother of four, Dr. Bowden became a national figure during the COVID-19 pandemic after treating more than 6,000 patients using early treatment protocols designed to keep people out of the hospital. Her willingness to question official narratives around COVID policy, treatment access, and vaccine mandates quickly placed her at the center of a national debate over medical autonomy and the limits of institutional authority in medicine.
Dr. Bowden made national headlines after being suspended from Houston Methodist Hospital for publicly challenging hospital vaccine mandates and advocating for early treatment options. Her subsequent lawsuit against the FDA forced the agency to remove widely criticized statements discouraging physicians and patients from using ivermectin.
In her clinical practice today, Dr. Bowden treats many patients suffering from injuries following the COVID-19 mRNA shots. Based on what she is seeing firsthand, she has become one of the most outspoken physicians in the country calling for the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines to be taken off the market pending full safety investigation.
