Tonight on VSRF Live, we’re joined by Leslie Manookian, founder and president of the Health Freedom Defense Fund—one of the most formidable legal forces in the country challenging vaccine mandates and coercive medical policies.
Leslie has become a central strategist in the national effort to dismantle mandate regimes—or, at the very least, to ensure that religious and lawful exemptions are real, enforceable, and respected. Most recently, she helped bring together a broad coalition of health-freedom organizations through the Medical Freedom Act Coalition, coordinating a state-by-state campaign to roll back mandate laws and reassert informed consent.
At the center of this conversation is HFDF’s landmark lawsuit against the Los Angeles Unified School District over its COVID-19 vaccine mandate. HFDF secured a major victory at the federal district court level—an extraordinary outcome later reversed by the Ninth Circuit—prompting a petition to the Supreme Court of the United States.
Now comes a significant development: after initially waiving its right to respond, LAUSD has been ordered by the Supreme Court to file a response. This procedural move signals that the Court is taking the case seriously. Leslie will break down what this order means, why it matters, and what could be at stake if the Court agrees to hear the case.
Also joining Leslie is Jill Hines, Director of Advocacy at Stand for Health Freedom. A former banker turned homeschool mom, Jill became a leading advocate for parental rights and informed consent. Today, she continues advancing Medical Freedom Acts across multiple states and represents Americans challenging federal censorship efforts in ongoing litigation.
Later in the program, we’ll be joined by attorney Rick Jaffe, counsel for Children’s Health Defense, to discuss an emergency motion filed yesterday in federal court in Massachusetts.
In that filing, Children’s Health Defense, along with several doctors and families, seeks to intervene in litigation involving the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), asserting that key evidence regarding the childhood immunization schedule — as well as the voices of affected families and physicians — have not been fully considered by the Court.
Rick will explain why the intervention was filed on an emergency basis and what the potential implications could be if the preliminary injunction is granted without hearing from affected families and physicians.
This episode spans Supreme Court developments, state-level legislative reform, and fast-moving federal litigation. It’s a conversation about strategy, accountability, and where the next legal battles are unfolding.
Don’t miss it.
